Magic City veteran Jai-Alai player RonRon is off to a great start in the early meet of the 2021 season. Check out these stats:
- leads the Singles Championship with 11-wins (CRB close behind with 10-wins)
- team of Juice-RonRon leading the 1st 2021 Doubles Tournament with 5-wins
- leads the Week 5 quest for the Golden Cesta Award going into Monday’s 1-pm performance
RonRon has won (8) Golden Cesta Awards since his arrival at Magic City late in the 2019 season. He is only surpassed by the Wonder Boy, Douglas, who has won the award an astonishing 24 times!
There are currently 16-players on the 20-player roster who have won the Golden Cesta Award for the most singles wins in a week. Aside from Douglas & RonRon, there are 14 other current players who have won the award from 1-time to 5-times. The three newest players on the roster have yet to win the award in the first 4-weeks of 2021, but have been playing some amazing Jai-Alai on the Magic City short-court. Those players are Spinner (from Dania), Julen (from Miami & Markina, Spain), and Benny, the newly turned-pro 17-year old Jai-Alai player and brother of Douglas.
Julen, Spinner and Tennessee each have 2-wins for the week in the short 3-performance week during this 10-week period of extra Jai-Alai games this year. Be sure to catch this amazing short-court Jai-Alai action on The Jai-Alai Channel at 1-pm tomorrow to see if RonRon wins his 9th Golden Cesta Award. Don’t forget about the hot H2H Jai-Alai action on the JAC at 10-am tomorrow morning and Tuesday at the same time!
