Sunday Match 2 – Ben vs Jeden
Betrivers has Jeden favored to win (-127 vs +103). Jeden plays the early games for the pelota games while Ben is a mid-game player. Ben makes some amazing catches and won most-improved player for Magic City’s 2021 meet. Not surprised if Ben upsets in this match.
Sunday Match 5 – Joseph-Manu vs Robin-Ben
Betrivers has Robin-Ben favored to win (-155 vs +125). Manu is former Dania player Ladutxe, one of the top back-court Jai-Alai players in the world and he’s been adjusting better to the Magic City short-court in his recent games. This match is closer than the betting line indicates and should be a good one!
Monday Match 1 – Julen vs Robin
Betrivers has Julen favored to win (-125 vs +100). Look for a possible upset here as Robin, a former Dania player, is a shot-maker looking to end the point quickly with his kill shots. Even though Julen is a late-game Magic City pelota player and Robin is a mid-game player, Julen is one of the weaker late-gamers while Robin is in the upper half of mid-gamers.
Monday Match 4 – Goixerri-Kubala vs Inaki-Nicolas
Betrivers has a slight edge for Inaki-Nicolas (-118 vs -106). This should be an awesome match to watch and is almost a virtual tie on the betting line. The Goixerri-Kubala team showed great teamwork in their last match and will be a tough cookie to crumble. Goixerri had the most overall wins in the Magic City pelota games last week and is tied with the amazing Douglas for most wins in the feature pelota singles games (games 6&8) for 2022 to-date. Both Inaki and Nicolas have been finding their groove and playing better too. Flip the coin on this match.
Tuesday Match 2 – CRB vs Jeden
Betrivers gives the edge to Jeden (-134 vs +108). CRB is currently in the top two players for early game pelota games at Magic City and has been out-performing Jeden in those games (games 1&2). Jeden’s strength sometimes finds him making unforced errors. This match is much closer than the betting line indicates.
Tuesday Match 5 – CRB-Douglas vs Jeden-Manny
Betrivers gives the edge to CRB-Douglas (-125 vs +100). CRB-Douglas are also teamed for the Magic City pelota games first doubles tournament for the 2022 short-meet. They are ranked 11th of 12 teams for ITM finishes (in-the-money) so far since the Feb 14th opening day and have been struggling. Douglas is a top player at Magic City while Manny is perhaps one of the best catchers, waiting for opponents to make a mistake. This match will be one to watch with the amazing court-positioning abilities of both Douglas and Manny. Flip a coin on this doubles match too.
