Championship Series Jai-Alai H2H – Series A Doubles Final Week & Series B Singles First Week Update

For Doubles, Carballo-Kubala went 1-1 to hold on to and capture 1st Place. They split matches with a win over Jeden-Nicolas (6-3, 4-6, 6-3) and lost to Flores-Aratz (6-1, 4-6, 5-6). This was Flores-Aratz’s first win. Flores-Aratz were down 4-5 in the third set and scored the final two points for the victory. Great job Flores-Aratz!

There was a tight race for second with Bueno-Benny, Robin-Julen and Jairo-Ben all within 2.3 percentage points of each other. Robin-Julen went 0-3 to drop to 7th place with losses to Jairo-Ben, Correa-Manny and Jeden-Nicolas. Jairo-Ben went 3-0 to capture 2nd Place with wins over Correa-Manny (1-6, 6-1, 6-3), Robin-Julen (1-6, 6-2, 6-5) and Joseph-Manu (6-3, 6-4). Bueno-Benny earned 3rd Place by splitting matches with a win against Diaz-Goixerri (6-4, 6-1) which included a 6 point run in the second set and a loss to the very strong substitute team of Inaki-Roque (6-2, 3-6, 2-6). Congratulations!

1st Place: Carballo-Kubala 14-6 (70.0%)

2nd Place: Jairo-Ben 13-7 (65.0%)

3rd Place: Bueno-Benny 12-8 (60.0%)

The new Doubles season (Series B), starts on Sunday, July 17 with 5 matches. Below are the new doubles parings:

For Singles, the first week of the new season (Series B) began with 7 matches on Tuesday.

Game 1: RonRon took the victory over Kubala (6-1, 6-4)

Game 2: Carballo earned a win over Ben (6-4, 6-3)

Game 3: RonRon earned his second win of the day by beating Jeden (sub) (6-2, 6-2)

Game 4: Julen beat Kubala 6-2, 6-2)

Game 5: Jairo earned the win in 2 sets over Ben (6-3, 6-1)

Game 6: Aratz played very well and earned a 2 set victory over Carballo 6-5, 6-3)

Game 7: Jairo earned his second win of the against Jeden (sub) in 2 sets (6-2, 6-2)

Aratz continues to improve his playing and earned Player of the Day. Congratulations Aratz!

Sunday’s matches are open to the public which includes the “H2Hx20” promotion for those in attendance. All you have to do is pick the winner of a match and the number of sets (either 2 or 3). If you get both right, you win $20 for that match (one FREE shot at $20 for each match). This is open for all matches throughout the evening. Each match is individual, so if you pick incorrectly, you still have a chance in the remaining matches.
