Despite missing the first performance for Week 4, the amazing Douglas still was able to win the Golden Cesta Award with 4-wins for the week. Four players were tied with most wins for the week, 4-wins each, however Douglas won the Golden Cesta Award with the tiebreaker rules of the highest win percent of 40%. The other players with 4-wins were Spinner (28.6%), Tennessee (21.1%) and Julen 19.2%. Douglas also dominated in overall % ITM for Week 4 with an impressive 70% (10-4-2-1). Next best in that category were RonRon and Spinner who both had 57.1% ITM.
The doubles team of Cool Fitness-Spinner continued to pile on the wins with 3-wins in their 10-games for Week 4. The team of CRB-Bradley impressed fans and have become major contenders for a piece of the prize money with their 3-wins in 10 appearances for Week 4. Cool and Spinner have a commanding lead with 12-wins while the current 2nd place team of Carballo-Tennessee have 5-wins. Needless to say, Cool and Spinner are playing extremely well together and will be hard to beat!
The 2021 Regular Season Singles Championship is squaring up to be one for the history books. RonRon still leads with 18-singles game wins, however, Ben has been playing extremely well and is only 2-wins behind. A total of 10-players have from 10-18 wins through Week 4. Douglas has been quickly rising up the leader board in the short time he’s been back from his wrist injury and is playing some amazing Jai-Alai. He’s a true champion and impressive to watch his incredible mastery of the “scoop” catch. He’s been throwing hard and focusing on shot placement and his stats are impressive in late game singles (32-9-6-1).
Week 5 action kicks off on Saturday, May 29th, at 4-pm and don’t forget that fans are allowed in the fronton for Saturday viewing with seating starting at 3:30 pm on a first-come first-serve basis.
