Championship Series Jai-Alai H2H – Week 5 Update

Week 5 of Championship Series H2H started with 7 doubles matches. The team of Inaki-Roque subbed for Jeden-Nicolas and handed Correa-Manny (3-1) their first loss of the season in straight sets 6-0, 6-1. Bueno-Benny won in 3 sets against CRB-Douglas 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. Robin-Julen (3-0) remain undefeated with a straight set win over Flores-Aratz 6-4, 6-4. Ikeda-Bradley earned their first win with a 3 set victory against Diaz-Goixerri 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. Carballo-Kubala took a 3 set win over Bueno-Benny 4-6, 6-5, 6-3. Jairo-Ben handed CRB-Douglas their second loss of the day 6-4, 6-5 while Joseph-Manu got their first win in straight sets against Ikeda-Bradley.

In Group I singles on Monday, Julen won in 3 sets over Aratz 3-6, 6-4, 6-5. Manu earned a victory in straight sets over Carballo who subbed for Nicolas 6-1, 6-2. Carballo later went on to a straight set win over Manny 6-2, 6-4. Douglas beat Inaki in a great 2 set match 6-5, 6-5. Goixerri improved to 6-0 with a 3 set win over Julen 6-5, 5-6, 6-4. And to finish the day, Benny won in straight sets over Jairo 6-5, 6-4.

In Group II singles on Tuesday, Ben beat Bradley in 3 sets 6-2, 5-6, 6-3. Carballo won in straight sets over Bueno 6-4, 6-2. RonRon improved to 6-1 with a straight set win over Kubala 6-4, 6-2. Ikeda improved to 7-0 in a thrilling 2 set match against Correa 6-5, 6-5. Bradley retired after suffering a knee injury, giving Bueno the win. The day ended with a hard-fought match between Kubala and Ben, with Ben winning 6-4, 6-4.

Carballo, Inaki-Roque and Ikeda-Bradley each had a 6 point run to win sets in their matches.

Championship Series Jai-Alai H2H matches begin at 5pm EST with Doubles on Sundays, Singles Group I on Mondays and Singles Group II on Tuesdays.

Sunday’s matches are open to the public plus there is a new promotion “H2Hx20” for those in attendance. All you have to do is pick the winner of each match and the number of sets (either 2 or 3). If you get both right, you win $20. This is open for all matches throughout the evening. Each match is individual, so if you pick incorrectly, you still have a chance in the remaining matches.
